More about this workshop...
As summer begins to wane and we move into the descent of the year, we meet at the threshold. What is possible for us when we collectively gather and share a movement journey, and then surrender our dance into stillness and silence? First, we explore, get curious, and listen through our movement for the wisdom inside us. We release and let go by stepping into the current of life force energy. We allow ourselves to be moved, to open, to deepen, and to connect with what is real and true from the core. And then, we relinquish our dance and we rest in meditation and silence together. We feel and connect with each other and spirit through the space created in the silence. In this time together, we step out of the rational and relational mind and into the creative, imaginal, and relational body, heart, and breath.
During the silent portion of our practice, we will position ourselves in whatever way provides the most ease of relaxation, and each individual has the option and choice to receive touch to further support deepening into stillness and silence.
Wear comfortable clothing that are light and easy to move in. Bring a water bottle and plan to drink more water than usual to help move what rises.
Please arrive with open minds and willing hearts to explore and honor a non-verbal space.
There will be an opportunity at the very end to share in circle.
More about Alison...
Alison grew up in Jackson, Mississippi and from an early age was drawn to a variety of athletics that challenged her physical body. While attending her first conscious movement workshop, she was deeply inspired by the potential of movement and dance to support one’s human and spiritual journey of transformation. She is grateful to the lineages of healing that have informed her journey of embodiment along the way, including her trainings in Traditional Chinese Medicine, Bio-dynamic Cranial Approach, and Azul Conscious Movement. She aspires to continue this path by offering collective ritual dance space for the purposes of healing and inner transformation, for connecting to others, and for giving motion and expression to our human experience.
