More about our Rhythm & Roots fundraiser

In a time when our keiki and community are longing for deeper connection, joyful movement, and a renewed sense of purpose, MAMM’s Spring Fundraiser offers something truly special. On April 11, 2026, as the sun sets, we’ll gather for an intimate, soul-filled evening that celebrates what is possible when a community comes together with open hearts and shared intention.

The night begins with the uplifting, feel-good sounds of Kanekoa, whose ukulele-powered rock rhythms set the tone for connection and celebration. Guests will savor delicious small plates, sip craft cocktails and refreshing mocktails, and linger in meaningful conversation. Throughout the evening, explore a thoughtfully curated silent auction, immersive audio-visual stories showcasing MAMM’s impact, and enter to win a full year of yoga and dance at Wisdom Flow Studio.

As the evening unfolds, we’ll gather for a heartfelt presentation from MAMM’s leaders and partners — a moving reminder of why this work matters and how, together, we are shaping a brighter future. We’ll close the night with gratitude, celebration, and the announcement of our auction winners — inspired, connected, and ready to continue the momentum.

Support Maui Access to Mindful Movement by donating to our silent auction or becoming an event sponsor. Your contribution helps fund school-based programs, scholarships, and device-free community experiences for Maui’s keiki and families.

More about MAMM

A Movement Crisis on Maui
Our keiki and community are facing a growing crisis of stillness and disconnection.

Physical education has largely disappeared from public schools. Many children are driven to school because safe sidewalks are limited. Parks with real climbing and fitness equipment are few. And since the pandemic, screens dominate how we learn, connect, and unwind.

The result? Still bodies, Overloaded minds, Disconnection from self and community.

The MAMM Solution

Maui Access to Mindful Movement (MAMM) brings people out of screens and back into their bodies through joyful, purposeful movement.

We create opportunities for keiki and adults to:

- Move, breathe, and connect together
- Step away from devices and into embodied presence
- Build resilience, focus, and well-being through mindful movement

What MAMM Does

- Partners with local yoga, martial arts, dance, and movement practitioners
- Offers scholarships and outreach programs for keiki and families
- Brings mindful movement directly into Maui schools
- Creates device-free events, camps, and community gatherings

These are not extras — they are essential supports for healthy development.

Why This Event Matters

Your support helps fund:
- School-based mindful movement programs
- Scholarships for keiki and families
- Community events where bodies come alive and connection is restored

When you support MAMM, you are investing in:

Healthy bodies. Clear minds. Connected communities.

Join Us. Move With Purpose. Support Maui’s Keiki.

Help restore balance, resilience, and joy — one mindful movement at a time.

More about Kanekoa

Playing what they call “ukulele-powered Hawaiian reggae fusion rock from Maui,” Kanekoa is riding a wave of both local and international acclaim. Nearly 30 years in, the band continues to surprise and captivate audiences with a sound unlike anything else. Blending reggae, rock, blues, and soul, Kanekoa features Kaulana Kanekoa on rhythm ukulele and lead vocals, Travis Rice on cajon percussion, and virtuoso Vince Esquire on lead uke and vocals. Their chemistry is undeniable—they breathe, move, and play as one.

Kanekoa’s innovative approach has earned praise from music legends, including Bonnie Raitt bassist James “Hutch” Hutchinson and Fleetwood Mac drummer Mick Fleetwood, who frequently books the band at his Lahaina venue. Known for pushing the ukulele far beyond tradition, Vince Esquire’s funk-infused style and the band’s collective passion create a powerful, magnetic experience—one that leaves audiences mesmerized every time they take the stage.

A message from MAMM's board

Every one of MAMM's board members has a story of how mindful movement changed their life for the better. Some of us say it saved our life. With book learning, information swims in the head, but embodied learning moves it into real life and drives wisdom into our bones. Community mindful movement means we are interacting LIVE with each other. Community mindful movement means we are choosing to heal, strengthen, and empower our bodies, together. Without any words needing to be said, moving together connects us to our individual and collective power to create positive change. Moving the body is the best way to clear stuck energy and let emotions flush and flow. Mindful movement is deeply healing as it brings rhythm, respect and responsibility into the mix. We would be wise to make mindful movement and embodied learning accessible to our community.

More about Maui Access to Mindful Movement

Maui Access to Mindful Movement (MAMM) seeks to spread awareness of, and access to, the physical, mental, emotional and social benefits of group practices such as martial arts, yoga, cultural movement, dance, and nature immersion.  MAMM’s mission is to show more Maui residents how mindful movement isn't just physical fitness; it's a catalyst for unlocking one’s potential through focus, awareness, and self-regulation. It is an opportunity for social interaction in an environment of discipline, shared principles and common goals. These community activities can be deeply therapeutic.  They bring us out of isolation and give us safe space to move together. When we move with intention, breathe in rhythm, and grow together, something more than physical well being happens – fear transforms into courage, isolation into belonging, and trauma into resilience.   Blending physical activity with mental presence, helps us calm compulsiveness and mindfully channel our energy; developing healthier social interactions and family dynamics. MAMM seeks to bring mindful movement to more Maui families.
