The Program

Our 300-hour certification is offered as a 9-day face to face immersion plus 16 weekly on-line sessions. In the face-to-face sessions we dive deeper into alignment principles, therapeutics, and the physical details of advanced teaching skills. We explore variations for students with limitation as well as systematic methods for teaching complex poses such as handstand. In the online sessions we unfold the living philosophy of yoga and learn to apply it to our own lives as well as weave it into our classes and share it with our students.

In the 9-day face-to-face sessions we use the Wisdom Flow Yoga Teacher Training Manual (available on Amazon) and Key Muscles of Yoga by Ray Long. Discover how alignment principles can help heal common pathologies such as pinched groin, sciatica, and bulging discs. Up-regulate the healing power of your classes.

In the online sessions we discover the power of the Yoga Sutras through the adventures of a young yogi named Friday in the novel "How Yoga Works". This adventure story along with Patanjali's Yoga Sutras as interpreted by Sri Swami Satchidananda you can bring deeper elements of guidance and inspiration to your classes. Your final project for the training is to develop a 2-hour workshop diving deep into either alignment principles or philosophical aspects of yoga and offering it to your community.

We only accept 12 students per training. We believe the cohesion and intimacy of the group plays a huge part in the power of the training. We also want to assure that each student gets plenty of personal attention. Apply early to assure your spot.

I was surprised at how quickly I learned the elements of functional anatomy. The games we played everyday - naming the contracting muscles and the lengthening muscles in each pose - were fun and effective. Learning the common habits of misalignment and the antidote for each made me feel like an advanced yoga teacher!

A note from our founder...

If you are anything like me, your yearning to experience more and share more of this illustrious path we call yoga gets stronger every year. We learn the basics of breath and asana when we first take the seat of the teacher, but we know there is more. Years of practice and humble self study leads us to the nectar of inner joy. This recognition of our inner divinity holds great power and peace. We find that, more than mastering handstand, it is this nectar of self-love and inner joy that we hope to help our students find. From that deep inner connection so much is possible; handstand, world peace, and a future that is bright for all the children of all species. I hope you will join us for this journey.

More about Wisdom Flow Yoga

Wisdom Flow Yoga School was founded in 2007 by Jennifer Lynn. With an engineering background, Jennifer appreciated the precise alignments of styles like Iyengar and Anusara, but also felt the importance of celebrating the flow of spirit through joyful movement. Wisdom Flow Yoga blends the Yang elements of organized structure with the Yin of dance-like flow. Structure must align with the laws of nature in order to be strong and sustainable, yet too much dogma can pinch off the organic flow of the heart. Wisdom Flow Yoga embodies a balance of precise alignments and core-centered movement with a playful dynamic flow that keeps the pathways clean, clear and strong, and the song of the heart coming through. In our training students learn a set of elegant alignment prinicples based on the sacred geometry of the human body. We learn to balance these principles in all poses. We learn to ride the flow of breath as the vehicle of awareness to keeps us exploring and refining our body-architecture towards healing and joyful growth.

"Although I had received other forms of yoga training, nothing quite compared to the training at Wisdom Flow. Jennifer’s level of professionalism is outstanding. She has a deep desire to bring out the absolute best in her students and her style of mentoring (both during and after the training) gives you the skill, confidence and passion to take the seat of the teacher. I’m now teaching regularly within my community and loving every moment of the journey."

"Wisdom Flow yoga provides a framework for studying all aspects of the practice, breath, postures, meditation, and philosophy. This framework can be used as a universal key to take into all types of movement practices.
