Move your body and move your energy with Divine Feminine Dance™ to create transformation so that you walk out the door feeling better than when you walked in. This style of movement focuses on joy, well-being and good vibrations!
In this event, Jennifer Loftus guides students through conscious movement inspired by a wide variety of fantastic music with the intent of experiencing more joy, freedom, power, self-confidence, energy and calm...body, mind and spirit. In this safe space, students learn to dance from the inside out, allowing their inner emotions to move them. Emotion is “energy in motion” and stuck energy needs to move so we can return to our natural harmonious state. Connecting with ourselves and others in conscious dance groups allows us to feel a sense of calm connection to support well-being.
This event is designed for teenage girls and no dance experience is necessary. We will close the class with breath work, stretching and a calming meditation and you will leave with some movement practices you can do at home to feel more calm and more positive energy.
Wear something comfortable to dance in, no special shoes are needed since the dance is done barefoot. Bring a water bottle and yoga mat if you have one, otherwise a yoga mat will be provided.
About your teacher...
Jennifer Loftus has been working with music, movement and meditation all her life! Jennifer has training and experience in many different dance, movement and energy modalities including jazz, modern, ballet, Alexander Technique, four belts in the Nia Technique, and Reiki which she has woven together to create a movement form for women called Divine Feminine Dance™. With a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Music Education, she also offers Finding and Freeing Your Voice sessions and piano lessons to help people tap into the musician within, as well as sound healing sessions with alchemy singing crystal bowls. She brings a compassionate heart to her events and sessions, holding a safe space for authenticity, truth, inner wisdom, empowerment, playfulness, and fun! Maui Access to Mindful Movement (MAMM) seeks to spread awareness of, and access to, the physical, mental, emotional and social benefits of group practices such as martial arts, yoga, cultural movement, dance, and nature immersion. MAMM’s mission is to show more Maui residents how mindful movement isn't just physical fitness; it's a catalyst for unlocking one’s potential through focus, awareness, and self-regulation. It is an opportunity for social interaction in an environment of discipline, shared principles and common goals. These community activities can be deeply therapeutic. They bring us out of isolation and give us safe space to move together. When we move with intention, breathe in rhythm, and grow together, something more than physical well being happens – fear transforms into courage, isolation into belonging, and trauma into resilience. Blending physical activity with mental presence, helps us calm compulsiveness and mindfully channel our energy; developing healthier social interactions and family dynamics. MAMM seeks to bring mindful movement to more Maui families.
